Lieve leden,

Vandaag gaan we het hebben over de rol van commissaris extern. Deze is momenteel helaas niet bekleed door iemand, maar als penningmeester van de vereniging voer ik nu het merendeel van de taken uit. Het is een veelzijdige functie die veel soft skills vereist. Je bent namelijk het contactpersoon voor externe partijen. Door dit contact kan je waardevolle relaties opbouwen waar de vereniging nog jaren profijt van heeft.

Als commissaris extern ben jij verantwoordelijk voor het beeld dat bedrijven van ons hebben, daarom moet je altijd een goede indruk maken. Om samenwerkingen met deze bedrijven vast te stellen, moet je in een zeker zin de vereniging verkopen. Jij laat ze zien waarom het een goed idee is om ons te sponsoren en welke voordelen ze hier uit kunnen halen. De overeenkomsten die je sluit zijn dan vaak geven en nemen. Je geeft een bedrijf de mogelijkheid om een workshop te geven, een stalletje bij de oriëntatiemarkt in te nemen of een andere manier van promotie te doen. In ruil hiervoor geeft een bedrijf je een bepaald bedrag. Op deze manier houden we de vereniging financieel gezond en kunnen we leuke activiteiten blijven organiseren.

Om de oude relaties te behouden en nieuwe relaties te verwerven moet elk jaar minstens één kennismakingsgesprek gepland worden. Hierbij wordt elk jaar het nieuwe contactpersoon van de vereniging geïntroduceerd en de samenwerkingsmogelijkheden besproken. 

De excursiecommissie is ook een heel belangrijk deel van de taken van de commissaris extern. Je bent de voorzitter van deze commissie, hierdoor ben je hier veel mee bezig. De ExCie helpt je met het organiseren van lezingen en verzorgt hier ook het eten voor. Het is dus zeer belangrijk dat er goed contact wordt gehouden met deze commissie.

Ten slotte ben je natuurlijk commissariaat. Helaas heb ik geen ervaring met de band die deze twee functies met elkaar hebben, maar zover ik heb vernomen bevat dit veel shotjes Salmari en plezier.

Dear members,

Today we will talk about the role of commissioner of external affairs. Unfortunately, this position is currently not filled, but as treasurer of the association I am currently carrying out most of the tasks. It is a versatile role that requires many soft skills, as you are the main point of contact for external parties. Through this contact, you can build valuable relationships that the association can benefit from for many years to come.

As the commissioner of external affairs, you are responsible for the image that companies have of our association, which means it is important to always make a good impression. To establish collaborations with these companies, you essentially have to “sell” the association. You show them why sponsoring us is a good idea and what benefits they can gain from it. These agreements are often based on give and take. You offer companies the opportunity to give a workshop, set up a booth at the orientation market, or promote themselves in another way. In return, a company provides a financial contribution. In this way, we keep the association financially healthy and are able to continue organizing fun activities.

To maintain existing partnerships and acquire new ones, at least one introductory meeting should be scheduled each year. During this meeting, the new contact person of the association is introduced and possible forms of collaboration are discussed.

The Excursion Committee also plays a very important role in the responsibilities of the commissioner of external affairs. You are the chair of this committee, which means you are closely involved in its activities. The ExCie helps organize lectures and also takes care of catering. Therefore, it is very important to maintain good communication with this committee.

Finally, you are, of course, part of the commissariaat. Unfortunately, I have no personal experience with the bond between these two roles, but from what I have heard, it involves a lot of Salmari shots and fun.
